Catherine is off on her travels.
Catherine is off on her travels Catherine will be flying out to Oz for a minimum of 3 months possibly longer. Her flight is on 22nd Feb and I am feeling really anxious. Am I feeling anxious for her or for me losing someone else dear to me, I don't know, a bit of both probably. She is really looking forward to going. Our friends in NSW have offered to put her up initially which is a big relief but her intention is to put to use all her bar work experience and move around as much as possible. Thank goodness for facebook and such things as we can be in constant contact with her for most of the time.
I put my name down for some counciling and was contacted by a spokesperson who offered me sessions which would have ment time off work and travelling into the city every afternoon at rush hour. Not a good idea as this would probably create additionally worry for me. I stressed this fact and they agreed to put me on a waiting list for a local session which was good. Last week I had a letter asking me to go into town at rush hour during working hours to register for this course. If I didn't confirm this by phone by 15th Feb it would be taken that I no longer needed counciling. I don't think I'll bother with this lot, not too much caring there !!

Was the counselling to be with Relate Martin? The problem for them is the high ddemand and the lack of counsellors rather than that they don't care. My husband and I have been to a few Relate sessions and we did find them helpful so I hope that you succeed in getting counselling.
ReplyDeleteThat Catherine feels able to leave for Australia for several months is, in its way, a credit to you and to how you've coped since Jane went.
I rarely comment but always read your entries to see how you're doing and wish you a peaceful and recuperative 2011.

ReplyDeleteI come to this entry late..sorry! I'm hoping that you have been able to get help via counselling. It will take as long as it takes for you to feel that you can say goodbye properly to Jane, and then you can live the life you have left with happiness and peace. God knows Jane would want that for you! Be kind to yourself and look towards the future with hope for happiness and contentment. I wish this for you and I'm sure so does your family friends and most of all your darling Jane.
God bless you!
Jeanie
Hi - I suppose Jane had "followed" my blog at some point - the only person (of less than 10) following me that I don't know...so I clicked on her to see who this person was - I rarely write on my blog so I was quite intrigued that someone I don't know had found me and flattered that they had decided to follow. I found your blog through hers. The most wonderful and interesting thing is this. My best friend Jane Thompson died this week in May 2000 just before her 24th birthday - and ten years to the month before your Jane died. I think the fact that your Jane "followed" me, probably without even really knowing why - is both our Jane's ways sending us love and a hug. I'm quite surprised. :) If you contact me via my blog, I probably won't get your email as that is connected to my "junk email account" but you can reach me at sevans at publicist dot com. (Email address made cryptic so that spammers don't find it - Exchange at for @ and dot for .
